This week Laura challenges us to draw an Autumn tile. I really don’t like to draw Gourdgeous, so I decided not to use it and looked for something else that reminded me of autumn.
I looked at the focus tangle for Square One: Purely Zentangle but didn’t feel it was one I wanted to work with this week. I then checked the daily tangles for today and yesterday on Pattern-Collections.com and determined that Lealad might work and went through the orb tangles. I found Schnattchen and it reminded me of a cornucopia, which is very autumnal to me.
I decided to draw that rather largely on the tile and then Lealad behind it on the left and center. So here it is before shading.
Then I added shading. I considered adding another tangle to the right side but decided to keep it uncluttered instead.
Sometimes the tiles look better when they aren’t quite so magnified.
It kind of reminds me of a turkey the way I’ve drawn it, rather than a cornucopia.
I’ve got to get some new stumps so I can blend a bit better. If you know of a good lamp that can sit on my side table and shine over the arm of my chair, when I am tangling, I’d love to know about it. I’m making my Christmas list now and it’d be a great addition, if it weren’t too expensive.
Thanks again for all the kind comments and for stopping by.
Until next time, God bless,
