Zentangle

I really enjoy tangling. Here are a few Zentangles I have done this year, though technically I guess they are Zentangle Inspired Art pieces (zia) since they are not done on a 3½” x 3½” tile.

The tangles I used in this one are Msst, Fescu, and Mooka. If you want directions on how to draw these for yourself, you can find them on the awesome Tangle Patterns website.

I like the Tangle Library app on the iPhone. This next one I was trying to do Flutterbud from that app but I failed; I kept working with it until it was acceptable to me. I added Ahh.

Ahh, Flutterbud (ish)

The last one I’ll share for today is one of my favorites. I wanted to try out B-rad’s (the Diva‘s husband) phicops in the shape resembling a pinecone. This one also has Kuke, purk, and printemps in it, with a bit of Jacki from Sandy Bartholomew too (Jacki is also on the Tangle Library iPhone app).

It is not necessary to know the tangle pattern names to enjoy working with them; I only list them so others can find the directions to make their own attempt at drawing them for themselves. They are fun because I can get decent results as I follow the step-by-step instructions. I hope these inspire you (and your kids) to try it for yourself.

Until next time, God bless,
