Praying For Your Spouse

Praying for Spouse ~ LifeOfJoy.meToday is September first and the start of the 30 Day Pray for Your Spouse Challenge. If you want to join me, it is on Facebook.  They will post a prayer point each day, so I’m told. I’ve never done this one before and do not really know what they will include but one of the best things you can do for your marriage is pray for yourself to be changed first. It is always our first thought that our spouse is the one that needs to change and we have a hard time seeing the areas we need to change; maybe it is just easier to see his faults than our own. At any rate, since I know I’m not perfect, I am going to be asking the Lord what I need to do to change to be a better wife to Mike, as I also pray for him.

If Facebook isn’t your thing, I found one that you could do on your own. This is from Revive Our Hearts. It has a guideline of what to pray for your husband each day and has a couple of scripture references to support that area. It is always great to pray the Bible; His Word will not come back void. It is powerful! The link goes directly to the four page pdf. Oh and this one is for 31 days, there are more months with 31 days than with less. ;)

For those single gals out there, you can pray for your future husband. I happened to find this really neat blog, Single, Saved, & Waiting, who did a 31 Days of Prayer for Future Husband back in January this year. The link is here if you want to check it out. I think it is a wonderful idea. (I have not read through all of the days prayer focus and do not know the full content, but what I saw looked good.) I’m sharing this with Tiffany too; it’s never to early for prayer. :)

I know there is power in prayer and that prayer changes things. I intend to look on the positive and work on me as I pray for God to continue strengthening Mike and that everything he puts his hands to prospers! I like challenges like this because it reminds me to be a blessing and helpmeet to him behind the scenes, not praying for my will to be done but that he hear God and follow His will in all he does.

Until next time, God bless

  1. I’m enjoying my time here, Michele! And I love this purpose-filled prayer challenge. So much power behind praying our spouses hear and follow God, isn’t there!

(I’m still hungry after reading your sandwich recipe, too!) :)
all for Him with hugs to you!!

  2. Nikki, I’m soooo glad you stopped by and that you’ve enjoyed what I’ve shared. Yes, there is much power in prayer!

Oh! That is one delicious sandwich. I took some to my neighbor one time, when his wife was in the hospital and he loved it. It’s one thing for family to like what you cook but something else when someone outside your family likes what you make. :)
