Yesterday was Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day. I mention this because this week’s Diva Challenge is to use the logo for the the Moebius Syndrome Foundation. The diva’s son has this rare disorder, so she does this challenge each year. And a challenge it is for me because I struggle to draw it, as you will soon see.
The Square One: Purely Zentangle and Shading Zentangle focus is Mak-Rah-Mee. I’ve wanted to try this one since I first saw it, although it hasn’t been all that long ago now; I just don’t take time to play with tangles often enough.
Anyway, I was thinking about how to go about incorporating the Moebius logo with Mak-Rah-Mee. Here’s what I came up with, unshaded first.
As you can see, the Moebius Syndrome Foundation logo is those interwoven triangles at the bottom. It’s not perfect but there are no mistakes with Zentangle, right? Also that large strand on the right was also . . . uhhhh, an opportunity for some creativity? I guess I could have put a Bronx Cheer over it.
I was inspired by PatternsCollections.com to show at least one more work-in-progress scan.
My eyes started to blur a bit as I was about 3/4 finished, so it appears that I didn’t quite complete blending all of the shading. Oh well!
The comments on last week’s tile were so sweet! Thank you all! As always, you all are very encouraging!!! Thanks also to any of you that take the time to comment this week as well. The Zentangle community is great.
I hope you all have a great week.
Until next time, God bless,

Great idea to weave the Mak-Rah-Mee ribbons into the moebius symbol! Great tile.
Absolutely amazing! I don’t think I could do the Moebius symbol on its own let alone combine it with Mak-Reh-Mee! Great work!
Great how you incorporated the Moebius Syndrome Logo in MakRahMee!!!
Very innovative way to use Mak-Rah-Mee! Love it! Again your shading is remarkable!
What a great solution, really enjoy your progression.
Very creative way to combine the challenges! Nicely done!
Wonderful tile! Like how you connected the Moebius Logo with the Mak-Ra-Meh ribbons! Nicely done!
Very creative incorporating Mak-Ra-Mee with the Moebius logo. Lovely tile!
I really like the way you have woven the symbol into the mak ra may. I also appreeciate the stages demonstrated in this blog. Thank you.
Nice integration of the two tangles. Is fun to try to do this. Some are easier than others. This one would have been tricky because of the logo.
