Dewd, Baecube, Bermuda, Zailz

This week’s diva challenge is to use the new tangle Dewd. Thankfully there was a video showing how to use it, so I was able to get it half decent the first time out.

The Square One: Purely Zentangle focus tangle is Zailz by Loretta West. Then there are two from Pattern-Collections including the pattern of the day for both yesterday and today. Today’s is Bermuda by Ina Sonnenmoser, which I did not do justice. Yesterday’s was Baecube by Barbara Steyer.

I really enjoyed drawing most of these new-to-me tangles. Baecube, in the center of my tile, is quite easy and can look quite nice, if shaded properly. It is fun to draw.

I didn’t think I’d like Zailz but I was pleasantly surprised. After reading the tip about imagining drawing a lower case cursive “s”, I really warmed to the tangle. I like the shape of that letter so that made it more fun to draw.

I decided to just draw a couple random lines within my border and ended up with three sections. I wasn’t sure I’d use all four of the tangles when I started. I kept imagining Baecube in the center. I wish I’d have drawn it a bit larger though.

Here is the tile before I started shading it.

DC#343 unshaded~ Lifeofjoy.meI actually drew it with Dewd along the bottom but preferred it this way after drawing it all. But after shading I decided I liked it a little differently oriented.

Here it is shaded.

Shaded DC#343 ~ Lifeofjoy.meI think I need a new blending stump, as my blending leaves a bit to be desired. The day got away from me, so I’m just calling this done.

I appreciate your comments! Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a good week.

Until next time, God bless,

Michele ºÜº
