Beetles, Getting Better, and Christmas Shopping

Well, it has been a week. Evidently it is beetle infestation time once again.

Beetle time again ~ Lifeofjoy.meAnd that’s just one corner!

More beetles inside ~ Lifeofjoy.meJust BOOM! All of a sudden we were infested. Michael asked my sister Tracie about it and she is also experiencing this irritation!

We have found in past years that the best way to get rid of them is to simply suck them up with the hose of a vacuum cleaner.

They really like my living room lamp too. Ugh! Apparently they are not harmful and even beneficial in a garden but annoying in the home. ;)

Mario Odyssey ~ Lifeofjoy.meAfter Brian, Lauren, and Liam left, Tiffany came down with whatever Liam had. She was miserable. Fortunate for Brian and Lauren, it only lasted one day for him. That was not the case with Tiffany. She fell hard to it.

Thankfully Tiffany is feeling better this week and I was a whole lot more productive than I was last week. I don’t know if it was the cold weather, Tiffany being under the weather, or something else that made me just want to sit and play video games (Mario Odyssey) all week. Don’t get me wrong, I did get all of the important things done but that is about it. Waiting on an ill person is time consuming and tiring. ;) I’m so glad she’s feeling better!!!

Gifts ~ Lifeofjoy.meI got a lot of Christmas shopping done this week!!! Whoo hoo!!! Thankfully most can be purchased online!  However, my sister Tracie and I will be doing a big shopping day this weekend. Hopefully I’ll knock out most of the stocking stuffers I still need to get, although I’ve done very well with things online. :) They may take a while to get here but that’s another reason to order early.

I’ve taken a pointer from my mother this year and will begin wrapping gifts early next week. I’ve gotten the first round in already and will be getting more in as the week progresses and with the shopping trip, I will have it ready to wrap. Mom taught me to just cover them so they don’t get dusty. I put the ones that I take to my family gatherings in a big bag and put it in the back under the tree anyway. So this year I will just cover the top of the bag with tissue paper and thus the dust will be tossed away. :) I’m looking forward to having the wrapping done ahead of time this year too.

Tiffany and I kind of had our November planning/October check-in meeting unexpectedly yesterday. She had her bullet journal out and started asking questions about what I thought she should do about writing for November. I realized that it was actually November first and as good a time as any for our “meeting”.

We are really trying to get her first novel out in paperback form this season. Especially since it is set at Christmas time. I really want to curl up with it and read it again. I remember two years ago that I had felt like I’d already celebrated Christmas after reading it, while I was editing it, that year. It really is a fun book and I’m so excited where it is headed. Because yes, she does have some sequels and shall I say, prequels planned. :)

Well, I have a busy weekend ahead of me and am looking forward to it. I hope the temperatures will stay cooler because it is so much nicer doing Christmas shopping in cooler weather. :D

Until next time, God bless,

Michele ºÜº
